Katherine has many years experience working with individual adults, couples and teens as a counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice. She currently maintains a private practice in downtown Vancouver. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor(#2895) through the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Katherine worked on a multi-disciplinary team as a mental health clinician and as an outreach mental health clinician for adolescents and their families for the health authority, Vancouver Coastal Health. Prior to that, she worked at Cameray Child and Family Services as a mental health clinician for teens and families.
Katherine has also worked in a shelter for battered women and their children. She works on contract occasionally as an Employee Assistance Plan Counsellor for Family Services of Greater Vancouver, and also accepts contracts with ICBC as well as other EAP companies.
Prior to receiving her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Katherine completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
Katherine is experienced in counselling clients from diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds as well as with individuals of diverse gender identities and sexual orientations. She has experience with a wide variety of mental health issues.
In addition, Katherine has a deep meditation practice and works with a spiritual teacher. She has practiced meditation for many years. The depth of this spiritual work profoundly influences her work with clients.
